Parishioners interested in receiving the anointing of the sick should contact the parish office at 703.356.1255 or one of the priests directly. The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing and spiritual strength. The priest will either arrange to come to your home if needed or you can arrange to meet him in the church. The rite involves prayer, the laying on of hands, and anointing the forehead and hands with blessed olive oil. It brings comfort, courage, and forgiveness of sins to those facing serious illness or advanced age.

If you or a family member are in the hospital you can request that the on-call Catholic priest for the facility administer the anointing. If it is not an emergency and you are a parishioner, you can request one of our priests visit the hospital to offer the anointing.
