First Communion at Saint Luke Catholic Church
Preparation
Children are enrolled in and regularly attend Grade One religion classes before they are placed in First Penance and First Communion Classes in Grade Two.
First Communion will be held on April 18, 2026 at 11 AM. Catechists will do some preparation with the children for this sacrament. The parents are expected to help prepare their child for this most important sacrament.
The children will participate in a Retreat, and there are Parent Meetings to help parents prepare their child for First Communion.

Parent Meeting: Feb 25, 2026 at 7:00 PM in Flaherty Hall.
Blessed First Communion Book: Please turn in the Blessed First Communion book to teacher/catechist the week of March 22, 2026
Banner: Please turn in Banners by April 1, 2026 to your child’s teacher or to the Religious Education Office.
Retreat: First Communion Retreat: March 21, 2026 10:30-12:30 PM. A parent is required to attend with their child.
First Communion Practice: April 15, 2026 6:30 PM

April 18, 2026 (School and parish combined) at 11 AM.
A $50 Administrative Fee is due by March 20, 2026. This fee helps to offset the cost of the reception, photographer, banners, retreat and supplies. Please pay via cash, check or Parish Soft (Select one time gift, Religious Education Class Fees, type in $50 and write a note that says: First Communion Administrative Fee).
First Reconciliation at Saint Luke Catholic Church
Children are enrolled in and regularly attend Grade One religion classes before they are placed in First Penance classes in Grade Two. In the Fall of Grade Two the children prepare for First Penance (Reconciliation or Confession).

Sunday Morning RE Students: Sunday, March 1 during Religious Education Classes.
**Home Learning students and students who attend other Catholic schools should attend one of our regularly scheduled parish confession times for their First Penance. After attending Confession, please contact the Religious Education Office. Confessions are held on Friday Mornings from 9:30-10 AM, Saturday from 4-5 pm and on Wednesday evenings during Lent from 6:30-8 PM in the confessional, which is located in the chapel.
St. Luke School Students: Wednesday, March 4, 2026 after the 9 AM Mass.
The First Reconciliation Handbook will be available in November, along with the Blessed: First Penance book for parents and students to work through together. The Blessed First Penance Book is due the week of February 8, 2026.
